Have you implemented a blog for your business?
If so, how is it going?
Do you find that you blog for a period of time and then leave it go for a while, not knowing what to offer your target market? If you responded, yes, then you’re not alone. I have been guilty of the same things. There are, however some sound blog practices that you should be aware of to make your blog a success.
Blogs can build credibility, increase brand awareness, drive traffic to your site and generate leads for your business.
So why do we slack in offering great content? Because we fail to think like a consumer and give them what they are looking for. Consumers typically type in a phrase for which they are looking for an answer. Blogs that contain keywords for that information will rank high in search results therefore providing a better chance of consumers locating your blog.
Tips for providing value-added content to your blog
#1 Focus on questions that your target want answered.
For example, if you are in the Business Support Industry, like I am, find out what questions your potential clients seek answers to and blog about those questions.
#2 Focus on comparisons.
Potential Clients are busy running their businesses and do not always have time to shift through the different functionalities of services that they wish to use. Do this for them by creating blog posts that compare different services listing the pros and cons of each.
#3 Focus on best practices.
Consumers are always searching for the best way to accomplish a task. With increased tasks and reduction in time, potential clients want to know the simplest but best way to do what needs to get done. Give it to them through posts that focus on the “Best” way to accomplish? or the “Best” type of ?
#4 Focus on industry happenings
Do not feel that you need to recreate everything! Although original blog content ranks high in search engines, feel free to share relevant posts written by others. I would however suggest not sharing posts from your competition. Sharing other’s content shows that you are staying on top of what it happening in your target’s industry.
